The Greyson Gentry Foundation

To Prevent Child Abuse

OUR STORY

January 19, 2021 changed the Gentry family forever.

Little Greyson was rushed to the hospital with a fractured spine and a perforated bowel. He was a victim of child abuse.

During surgery, Greyson went into septic shock. His heart stopped for 26 minutes and caused a stroke. Over the next five days, Greyson was on life support. He was not expected to survive. The family was told to be prepared for the worst. They were finally able to take Greyson home where he was placed on Hospice Care.

But Greyson is a warrior. Strong. Brave. Smart. A SURVIVOR! Much like his trucker grandfather, Jacob Gentry, Greyson met the hard road he faced head on and with the support of his family and the community, Greyson is making strides everyday that astound doctors and everyone around him. Greyson is a miracle.

Despite expectations from the doctors that he would never breathe on his own, walk, talk, or eat, Greyson is in physical therapy now, breathing on his own, standing, and working to talk.

Now the Gentry family wants to give back. To help other families whose children have been abused. To prevent this from happening to another child. To stop the pain.

Out of the pain, hope has emerged. “This is what we are supposed to be doing,” said Jacob Gentry. “This is what God wants us to do.”

And so was born the Greyson Gentry Foundation, to help prevent child abuse and to support the survivors and families of child abuse.
